Ah well...that might be a bit of a problem. Because in order to take the path that leads directly to Violet, you have to beat this city's gym leader first. So unless you can do that or know somebody who has, you're stuck. Unless you want to go back around the long way which, trust me, you don't want to do.

[There are forests and caves and it's just nasty in general. Plus it takes FOREVER.]

I don't know. To be honest, I haven't actually gone and looked at it yet. I just know that supposedly you can't go that way.
