I always kind of wondered how they ended up evolving like that... I mean, they look a little similar, but Persians come off as a lot more... I don't know, elegant I guess. When I first played the games, I didn't think a Meowth of all things would evolve into something so cool.

Yeah, just think about Magikarps and Gyarados. No one expects their stupid, useless fish to turn into a giant sea dragon. No one. Sometimes their personalities change, too. Pokémon are just weird.
