[The day after Easter, Kyo's decided to pack up and head out for the one week trek to Violet City. He figures his Pokémon are levelled up enough to handle the journey (which is an understatement, considering their levels), as well as Tohru and Machi's. The sun's out and the weather is nice for once, and there are no hindering bug invasions, celebrations, or rainstorms.
Kyo, Tohru and Machi can seen at the very beginning of Route 30, standing in front of the tall grass that, once stepping into it, will mark the beginning of their journey. Kyo isn't so sure about travelling with two girls, especially when he doesn't know Machi very well and is hesitant about her relationship with Yuki, but thinks they'll be fine as long as they keep up. His Cubone, Kotsu, has the 'gear and is filming with wobbly inexperience.]
All right, you all better be ready. I think we've stocked up on enough food and potions to last us for the week.
[He begins walking. Cat, his Meowth that so far has refused to evolve, pads quietly at his side. His Luxio, Shock, trails behind and keeps an eye on the Togepi egg sticking out of Kyo's bag. Kotsu totters and for a couple of moments points the 'gear to the blue sky, distracted by its clearness. At the angry chirping of a Pidgey, he quickly returns the focus back to what lies ahead of them.]
I'll handle this one. Cat, use Bite!
[With a 'Meowth!', Cat leaps forward and takes down the foe with the single swift movement of his jaws. He drops the limp bird and begins to trot happily back to his trainer. Suddenly, however, he begins to glow. What's this? Cat is evolving!]
[The much larger, more graceful feline briefly marvels over his hot new bod. This sleek and deadly killer badass enough for you, Kyo? His trainer looks on, impressed.]
Well, you've finally evolved. It's about time . . . Leo.
[With delighted cries of 'Purrrsian, Purr Purr!', the newly-named "Leo" bounds towards Kyo and pounces on him, all 70 pounds of sinuous muscle, knocking him to the ground. He nuzzles into his neck, purring.]
