I was watching War Stories, with Oliver North, and it was on the role of women during WWII. It got me thinking about image, and propaganda, and the way our views can be shaped with subliminal messaging. It truly is an amazing thing - the credability we put into the things we see around us. Some of those women were amazing. The sweet ( Read more... )

wooooo!!! Oasis!

i learned how to play "let there be love" the other day.

btw, Luther's motivations for "reforming" the church were so that everyone could follow him, then, when everyone realized that if they didn't need to follow the pope, they didn't need to follow luther, they broke off into their own groups. on his deathbed, luther realized what he had done got way out of hand and regretted the whole thing.

and that may be my catholicism speaking out, but it was in his biography (written by a lutheran).

p.s.-hope the "stinging" wasn't really bad :(

Ollie North? I skipped the rest of your post on principle. It was good talking to you today.
So the moral of the story: Stop watching FOX....though I did make a delivery there yesterday.

Yeah, Ollie North. His story is actually sorta interesting. And, I've read transcripts with him being questioned by Al Gore that turned out to be sadly ironic after September 11th. However, lets examine some hypocrisy together. My mom gets all upset with "Those Stinking Liberals who only listen and read one side of the sources" and then only turns the channel to FOX news and listens to conservative talk radio. When I try to turn to CNN, she cries and changes it. Yes, this is the logic we must fight.... but I'm not gonna lie... I loves me some War Stories, and the History Channel, of course. No one sidedness for me ( ... )
