This are wonderful, as usual! But oh, poor OoT Zelda. :( I feel like anytime you try to sit down and write her story, it cannot helped but be framed by regret.
The Ghirahim drabble really gets under the skin. There's just something so surreal about the horror in it. On the other hand, it sort of...makes sense? Knowing what he really is, I think the penetration metaphor is unavoidably fitting.
Thanks for the comment! And yes, I feel the same way whenever I write Oot Zelda, whether she's a child or an adult, her story, as well as the Hero of Time's story, is so sad to me, so I can't help but write it that way.
I'm glad you liked the Ghirahim one! It's one of my favorites. I love writing him because he's such a creeper, and I think he has a creepy thing for Zelda, in his own way. I mean, he calls her pet names like "darling young girl" and "adorable" throughout the game.
I feel like OoT was okay when I played it the first time, but with TP and WW working together to make it even more depressing by furiously asserting that everything was for naught, it's basically an experience in getting punched repeatedly in the stomach.
I agree that Ghirahim and Zelda make a really interesting duo. They're elemental opposites, yet his entire existence is entirely substantiated by her own. No wonder he's obsessive.
Yes, I think TP and WW did a good job with the endings, I think WW is the most heartbreaking, because while Oot Link and TP Link both lost a companion, WW Link lost both a companion and Hyrule :/ and when you think about the fact that, all the Link's are essentially reincarnations of one another...well, I personally don't think about it too much, it's depressing, haha.
Thank you! That's exactly my reasoning. Everyone thinks it's Link Ghirahim obsesses over during the game, but that's largely a case of Shipper Vision at work; it's not Link Ghirahim is after, it's not Link that he wants, it's Zelda (albiet to, er, sacrifice her eternal soul). So glad I found someone who sees it the same way :)
