You woke up, alone.
Gackt was training with Jon.

1pm
You was making enough rice balls to feed a small army, but knew he’d be eating them alone.
Gackt was filling Shinya’s wine glass as the two of them dined on Chef Izumi’s wonderful cooking.

4pm
You was strolling through the local park, camera in hand, taking photos. Alone.
Gackt was laughing as he won yet another Touch the Numbers Bluetooth battle against Takumi.

7pm
You was unable to find anything to watch on TV as it was always difficult to find something worth watching when he was alone.
Gackt was relaxing, and debating which Star Wars movie was best with U:zo.

Midnight
You was lying in bed and staring at the ceiling.
Gackt was… lying next to him, his head pillowed on You’s chest, breaths deep and even and he was sleeping soundly after his busy day of bonding with his new band members.
You kissed Gackt’s forehead as gently as could as he didn’t want to disturb the other man when he looked so peaceful and content.
They’d spent their precious and all too rare day off apart, but You didn’t mind. You knew that new band members had that special shine that always came with the unfamiliar and the fresh, but he also knew that eventually, that shine would fade and that Jon, Shinya, Takumi and U:zo would soon simply become “members” - part of the family, but no longer shiny and new.
New members come, they shine and they steal Gackt’s attention for a few weeks, but Gackt always comes back to You.
Because Gackt knows that You is so much more than being shiny and new.
You is support, comfort, familiarity and love.
You is home.
There’s no amount of shiny or new that can compete with that.
