Tell me, how beautifully did his throne crumble?

It is always a pleasure to be able to see your lovely face through that hair of yours. The 'wet-dog-in-the-rain' look must be all the rage now-a-days, thanks to your humble influence.

It'd be nice if any of us knew the answer to that question... Right now, it's still unknown who or what's bringing us all here.

What an intriguing mystery. And if one could fathom a guess, perhaps we are also unable to leave through the standard measures?

That's right. We can leave, but apparently that's not up to us to decide when.

Then on whose whims are we able to leave, I wonder? Is it that of a faceless God, or an angel upon wings of six?

*Well ... that sure was good vocabulary.*

I'm sure not many people know the answer to your question ... But I'm glad you escaped death.

One can assure you, that one is truly grateful.

[A smile.]

Though one mustn't forget one's manners as well. One is most humbly known as 'The Mad Hatter' to those who know one. And what of the kind girl in the looking glass?

*Her eyes widen at that. Mad Hatter ...?*

Ah, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alice ...

I don't think anyone summoned you I'm afraid. People just tend to appear.

Well, one supposes that appearing is certain better than disappearing, though they do come hand-in-hand, and sometimes foot-in-foot.

Hmm, appearing and disappearing go hand-in-hand? Hmm... I suppose that's true because if you appear somewhere you have to disappear from somewhere else first, because you can't just disappear from nowhere... although... if you disappear from nowhere you're now here so... But you know! Sometimes appearing could be quite as awful as disappearing! Like appearing for a scolding wouldn't be any fun at all. You would want to disappear! Although I suppose you must always disappear and appear as you said.

Appearing for a scolding does sound to be most unpleasant. Has the young lady had many experiences of such?

One is certain that if one asks nicely enough, they would be kind enough to bear one upon their shoulders.

Are they not most intriguing, little miss?

They are! And that sounds so fun!

[ Pauses, headtilt. Not really addressing Belial but . . . ] I wonder if Brother would allow me.

If he so loves you, then one is certain he would. After all, one will take it upon oneself to ensure the safety of the lovely maiden.
