Room 509 - Thursday after Classes
Rogue returned to her room and was catching up on some reading when her phone rang.
"Hello, Rogue."
She smiled. "Hello, Professor."
"Are your classes going well?"
"Yeah, just finished for the summer earlier today," she said. "How's everything up there?"
There was a pause before he replied. "That's what I was calling you about. Kitty broke her leg in a danger shop session and is out of commission for the next two months. We could use you on the team."
"Oh," Rogue said. She had been dreading this phone call ever since she got back from Xavier's. On one hand, she felt like Xavier's was a better fit for her now that she was a mutant. But she knew she'd miss her friends and family in Fandom if she left.
"I realize that you can't give me an answer immediately," Xavier said. "But I'd like you to consider the offer."
She nodded and then realized he couldn't see her through the phone. "Okay. I mean... I'll think about it," she promised. "Can I call you on Monday and let you know?"
"Of course. I'll look forward to hearing from you then."
Xavier disconnected the call and Rogue hung up, laying back on her bed. This was going to be a hard decision.
