I never got my hands on this, but I'm happy to hear I'm not the only person who had that very distinct phase, lol. All the Darkover novels in our library are ratty from me reading and re-reading them. Honestly, I think the matter-of-fact treatment of gay and lesbian characters was a HUGE draw, even though I didn't even fully comprehend what she was writing about (what can I say, sheltered childhood).
Yeah, I borrowed those books again and again. In the case of The Catch Trap - I was the only one who borrowed it, and then at one point they sold the books that no one really borrowed anymore, so the copy I have now (at least the German copy, I have an English one as well) is the one I read first over 14 years ago, which is kinda cool.
Luckily, even though it's out of print you should be able to find a copy for a reasonable price. I wish someone would properly publish it again, though, if only so I could recommend it to even more people :)
