Things do not look good for John and Sherlock. Although the prequel and this story really don't explain to the reader what Sherlock's interest in John is - just seems like a stupid morally upright do-gooder. (You and the scones and the jam! :-)
But I did like John there at the end, telling Moriarty "have you ever been offered anything you didn't bully or blackmail someone into" - great line! And slapping him too ;-)
And then Seb flirting! Descending a bit into farce, there :D

Dialogue as smokescreen. The more your actions are driven by desires, jealousies and wishful thinking, the more likely you are to phrase them to yourself in terms of justice, establishing the truth, loyalties. John's trying to rationalise three strong emotional reactions at once, and starting to lose it. None of the others are helping at all :-)
