Of course Douglas is an ex-alcoholic middle-aged man whose wife has just left him and whose career is going backwards, with no obvious outlet to talk about any of these things and an obsession with maintaining his own image as life and soul of the party. He must, statistically speaking, be way more likely to have mental health problems than Martin and be way less likely to seek help.

I'm glad that it's not all okay at the end, that there's a long, difficult road ahead. But yay for Martin - he's always seemed pretty understanding of emotions and things.
