A fitting end. They died as they lived and Josef kept his pride until the end. Still, poor Josef. I guess he and Gabs got some lucky years, at least. Their new line of work was clever, much like dancing!

Interesting to see your take on the black dress! Nice touch! And I liked how Leoanardo and the Princess really were no better than Karl; not one bit forgiving.

Great story, USF! (What's next??)

A little better than Karl, surely! Josef is at least getting a trial, not a ditch on a dark night. Should they have forgiven him? He killed innocent people for money and he helped Karl intimidate and bully the whole country and the poor Princess, and I don't recall him being particularly contrite or sympathetic to his victims. I don't know; I've never been able to make up my mind about the hunt for justice long after the event. He thinks he's being unjustly persecuted but he's hardly an impartial observer.

But him and Gabs- sniff. I console myself by imagining what one (or two) might get up to on a trapeze :-)

Glad you enjoyed. All written out for the moment- got to seriously start the grammar and we're off on holiday from Friday.

Forgiven him, hmmm. No, he's not contrite. He does and did what he must. But you know, I have to ask myself: is it nature or nurture? Life in the Kingdom was hard, as you say. Will it continue to be hard? Who would Josef have been in other circumstances? Is a continuation of revenge ever solving anything or just creating more problems? But that's me, not your story. ;-)

And Josef and Gabs in the trapeze - very nice! ;-)

Ohhh, so the holiday starts on Friday! Glad to hear it! All set for it? ;-)
