Texting

I've been checking out Free texting Apps..  Right now I've got about 4 on my phone.

WhatsApp
Textplus Gold
Textnow
InfiniteSMS

WordsWithFriends (I hear the messages are free, don't know if it's true)
Skype (would that work like Texting?  If I send a message to someone who is off line will it be there when they sign on?)

I heard Textfree is good too. They give you an actual phone number so anyone can text you.

I can't seem to find TextFree. I've heard about that one. I think text now and Text plus also give out Phone numbers.. I just can't tell if I'll get texts from those programs while I'm not connected to the Wifi .. which then I'd still get charged.

All I get when I search for Textfree is a "Tone Pack"
