It wasn't because of his break up with Kate, or his failed boy crush on Zac Efron, no... It was WAY worse than that...
Cale's real first love, James Walker, had let him go...
James said he couldn't deal with the jealousy of having to see Cale with Kate in public while he was home alone, crying because of him.
Nobody knew Cale was gay, or maybe bi, whatever... So Cale always had to put on a show with Kate at his sight if camera's were around.
Cale had promised James to make the charade stop. To come out to the world and tell he and Kate weren't a couple anymore 'cause he was together with a boy.
And what a boy he was...
To Cale he was the most beautiful, most sweetest, and most perfect boy in the world.
The only problem was that nobody could know...
James was fed up with it. Fed up with the lies, the whole 'keeping this relationship a secret' thing that he decided to let Cale go.
He already had another admirer whom he'd kept off for so long just because he didn't want to hurt Cale.
While in fact Cale was terribly hurting him, and wasn't doing anything about it whatsoever.
So James decided to play the 'bad guy' and broke up with him.
Cale fell mentally into a deep black hole and nobody could pull him back out again.Not even his best friend Kris.
He wanted to let James know how much he really missed him. So, when he and Kris were invited on another Ellen DeGeneres show, Cale saw his chance.
After the interview, right when Ellen was gonna ask Kris to sing, Cale interrupted her.
" I'm really sorry ,Ellen, but I wanted to ask if I could sing something too?"
Ellen looked at Kris, who looked just as surprised as she did.
" Of course you can, Cale. If Kris doesn't mind..."
Kris shook his head, " No, go ahead Cale."
Cale gave a small smile before taking his guitar in his hands and looking into the camera.
" This song is dedicated to someone I loved, still love, very much, but I'm afraid we broke up a while ago. I just want that person to know how much he means to me. So, no... This song is not about Kate. It's about a boy who I've hurt very much and I hope this will show him just how sorry I am."
Ellen looked surprised while Kris smiled. He knew Cale made the right choice to do this.
The choice to finally come out. Even if it was too late for him and James, now everyone knew...
