One of my favorite things about your work is the iceberg aspect. The pieces connect because of what they all imply. Enjoying this set very much.

Thank you. This has been interesting to write, imagining the connections, too.

I like it, it's not a comfortable, oh it's nice like, it's an uncomfortable like, I'm seeing into a window into the real world, so better than nice, if that makes any sense at all.

I'm happy you have some kind of like for it. It's interesting, trying to build a family he could have had. Have no idea where the link between food and death came from.

Hvannadalshnúkur!!! Well, if you're going to fall off a mountain, it might as well be one with a really dramatic name...

“Must have been hard on your parents,” said John, rummaging for a clean spoon. “Bringing up a human lie-detector.” His ears were pink; he was annoyed.

“Not that I noticed.”

*

“Liar,” grumbled John.

I love John. He knows very well Sherlock notices EVERYTHING.

And Mycroft noticed everything too, so there was no need for Sherlock to point out his observations about his girlfriend, other than the sheer fun of it. Probably well rid of her, but oh dear... AND HE IS INDEED REWARDED WITH PUDDING. And later, John does the same thing!

I love all these little revelations about Sherlock's family life...

Glad you're enjoying them. I haven't learned how to pronounce that mountain's name, but I love it. It's not terribly high, but it's known for its dangerous fissures and crevasses.

It's interesting, building different families for Sherlock. I'm rather taken with the brothers in this one. I think Sherlock in any version must have been close to his mother. Mummy here is also dealing with her terrible son having fled/been bounced out of school, probably again. Rice pudding could = truth serum.

Terrific story. I love the interplay between Sherlock and his Mum.

Mummy and her innate sense of proportions are fantastic.
