I'm not sure if this is an option, but... blahblah100 January 14 2006, 09:31:51 UTC
I don't know anyone in Wichita, but can you somehow place her through a local Rotary Club? My voice teacher from UMSL was very involved with her Rotary Club and was always mentoring an exchange student. I would think that St. Louis may have more options for her, even if she can't live in your house.

It's a long shot, and a long way, but... astr0 January 14 2006, 10:41:47 UTC
My son's adoptive parents live in a very small town called Solomon between Salina and Abilene, about 90 miles north of Wichita. I've been a very distant and aloof bio-father, so I'm not a great reference, but they are the type to open up their home, obviously. Email me at astro_jpc at yahell.com (please correct, that's just to throw off spammer scanners) if this location and family sounds worth investigating.

Hey! This is Casey. I know a friend in Wichita. Actually a couple of people that may be able to help--and if they can't there may be someone at her church that can. Let me put you in touch with her email. Her name is Arethia Grisby....her email is: plumppeach@yahoo.com. Let her know that you talked to me. If you cannot get ahold of her that way...contact me at caseyjmaddox@yahoo.com and I will give you her phone number.

Wow her american "family" sounds like the type of folks who host foreign exchange students just to force them into indentured servitude and make money pimping them out or something. I hope her situation is able to improve real soon! Sorry I can't help.

heres an option renaoriana January 15 2006, 17:46:31 UTC
Another option, for support, is the Masonic Lodges in the area. They might not be able to take her in, but they might be able to get in tough with the right person. Also, try the local Jaycee's, if they have one. Or the local city commerce/council board. LIke I said, they might not be able to take her, but its worth a shot of getting to the right person.
