Valentine's Day was all about those you are in love with for quite some time. It was about buying your loved one cards and sweets and confess. But what about those who had nobody, not even a mere crush? Aki sighed and toyed with the half empty coke. He looked around the small and well occupied restaurant while he had to wait for his ramen since the cook was overworking himself. Going out for a meal all alone wasn't as enjoyable as he thought. He sighed again as he watched a couple giggle and feed each other.
But then, his eyes were drawn to the young, handsome man entering the shop with a smile. He seemed younger than he was, but equally pierced. His bright red and black hair fell into his dark eyes. He was looking around the shop. Maybe he had a date? Or, maybe, he was searching for a seat since the place was overall crowded today. The pretty smile began to falter, Aki felt sorry for him. Then, as their eyes met by chance, he instinctively raised his hand and waved, signing him to come over. That he did.
"Are you looking for a seat?" Aki asked, smiling at the younger who instantly returned the friendly expression.
"I am, I've never seen this place that full." He scratched the back of his head, seeming a little lost and maybe even embarrassed.
"If you want to you can sit down at my table, I wouldn't mind company." Aki gestured at the yet empty spot on the other side of the small table.
"Thank you so much!" He put down his bag and flopped himself onto the chair. "My name is Kai, by the way."
"I'm Aki." His first impression was right, the man was really handsome and yet so sweet. He was a little smaller than Pon, he mused, but taller than Ruki-san. "Can I ask you something?"
Kai looked up from the menu "Sure."
"Are you a musician?" He leaned a little forward.
The other chuckled and nodded. "A guitarist. What gave me away? The hair? The clothes?"
"All of it and your callused fingertips." Aki laughed.
A waitress took Kai's order, surprisingly the same ramen as Aki ordered about five minutes ago. So he was handsome, sweet and had good taste in food.
"I'm a bassist." He said, holding up his hands, wriggling his jeweled fingers.
"Are you... the Aki? SID's Aki?"
"What gave me away?" The older cocked one brow.
Kai grinned. "Your tongue."
Aki grinned, too, and stuck out his pierced tongue as the now giggling Kai received his ordered coke. That was when Aki noticed the catlike, sensual lips of the guitarist, wrapping around the straw. He felt bad for the places his mind went, he couldn't help it, though.
"So... all alone in a restaurant on Valentine's Day?" Kai asked, flicking the tip of his tongue over the straw to catch a drop.
"I don't consider myself alone, you're here, ne?" Bold. Aki smirked.
The guitarist laughed and leaned closer. Interesting.
Their ramen arrived and both dug in, being hungry for quite some time. They kept chatting, drifting of to dirty jokes after some time and eventually tentatively flirting. No, he really wasn't alone on Valentine's Day. That's why, when he had to leave, he took his napkin and wrote his number on it. He hesitated a little, but added the words Happy Vanlentine's Day ♥.
Soon, he'd get a call and asked if he'd like to have a drink or two with the younger. It wouldn't stay a drink or two, but Kai didn't stay only one night either. Maybe, there really is something about that one day every year, that one day all about love.
