A hot day in summer; so hot that Shou was wearing the shorts he bought on a whim while he was shopping with Aki.
Another whim had led him outside into the heat, into the dreadfully tanning sun he tried to trick with high priced lotion. And sunglasses of course.
So that, now, seated on the balcony of a beach café, beneath an umbrella providing a generous range of shadow, he looked at his significant other and how that strand turned into an adorable curl on his moist forehead. He smiled a dreamy smile and put another spoonful of banana ice cream into his mouth.
"Love is a four letter word," Saga started to talk in the best English he could muster. "It is spelled S-H-O-U." There was this flicker of embarrassment on his cheeks, but as his lover laughed he smiled back.
Shou licked his spoon clean, fake-oblivious to what it looked like, put it down and bent slightly over the small table, his flip-flopped feet touching the bassist's. "Love is a four letter word; it is spelled S-A-G-A." His big toe nudged Saga's.
They locked eyes despite the dark shades, not even trying to fight the ridiculous smiles of lovers claiming their lips.
Love is a four letter word.
