"He's such a dick!" Reita rushed past Uruha as soon as the amber-blond had opened the door to his and Hiroto's apartment.

Creasing his brows he followed the obviously upset bassist into the kitchen. He was about to scold him for not leaving his boots by the entry but his words got stuck in his throat as he saw how angry and scared his best friend looked.

Reita took out a bottle of beer from the fridge and just stared at it.

"Go ahead and drink, you know I share my booze."

The bassist didn't drink it, though. Instead he placed the bottle uncapped on the counter, his finger lingering around it a moment longer. He couldn't drink it to ease the tension, not anymore.

"He's such a dick." He huffed and looked up at the guitarist.

"You already said that. Hundreds of times, actually. What did Ruki do this time?" Uruha leaned over the counter separating the kitchen from the living room.

"He kicked me out."

"Well, that's something Ruki has done hundreds of times too."

"Yes, but this time he's a total dick." Letting go of the beer he raised his arms in anger.

"Watch your mouth around children." Hiroto said with a friendly chuckle, carrying a one and a half year old boy who kept hugging his favorite toy.

"That's exactly the problem!" He pointed at the smaller man accusingly, narrowing his eyes, anger boiling up.

"Hi Uncle Rei!" The little boy piped.

"Hey, sweety." That was all he could muster right at that moment, but it triggered something inside to get a grip of his temper.

"Okay, you lost me, care to explain what's going on?" Uruha took the cold beer to uncap and drink it himself.

"He kicked me out!"

"Yes, yes, we already got that." Uruha watched how Hiroto sat their boy onto the counter and fixed a missed button on the toddler's shirt.

"He kicked me out because I told him I'm pregnant!" He moved around the kitchen and seated himself on an armchair.

"You're what?"

The couple tagged along, claiming the couch with Masayuki in Hiroto's lap.

"He thinks I tricked him into paternity so he wouldn't dare to break up with me." He huffed. "As if he would do that, anyway! I know he loves me, I know it, so why is he doing this?"

"Did you?" Hiroto inquired.

"No! Of course not!" An offended look spread over Reita's features.

The blond guitarist still had his little issues to wrap his mind around what he had just heard. "And you really are pregnant?"

With his elbows set on knees and his forehead resting on his palms, Reita nodded. "Thirteenth week."

"But you look so lank!" Uruha piped, a little jealous. When he had been pregnant with Masayuki, his belly grew fast and round. He could already feel it with his hands in the tenth week.

"Well, I didn't stop doing sports when school ended." Truth to be told, more muscles meant stronger conjunctive tissue and therefore he was staying in shape longer.

"But- How long have you known?" Uruha was a little confused.

"About a week? Two?" His brows raised, a little afraid of how the other might react.

"And you didn't tell me?!"

"Well, I thought Ruki, being the father, should be the first to know! Can you imagine how pissed he would have been if he, like, overheard you and me talking about it?"

"He's right, love." Hiroto joined in while trying to pry the guitar plushie out of Masayuki's mouth. "Unless you're the father."

Reita laughed at Uruha's offended What?! "He's not."

"First love, last love." The brunette said with a smirk.

The tall guitarist gaped. What was he supposed to say to this?

"You know I'm joking, right?" His lover asked with a smile, taking his hand.

Their son looked at them, observently. "Will you kiss mommy now?"

Both laughed, even Reita chuckled a little. "Of course I will." And with that they kissed, short yet sweet and Masayuki glomping on them with his arms spread as wide as he could to hug his parents.

"I love you." Uruha said in a quiet voice.

"Me too?" The toddler asked.

"Yes, you too." He placed a peck on the black haired boy's forehead and ruffled his tuft.

"Guys, is there any possibility that I can have this" he gestured at the family on the couch. "myself?"

"Who would have thought you're actually a family man, Reita." Hiroto said with a perked brow, setting his son down to entertain himself, his red guitar plushie dragged along.

"Maybe I want to be." More or less absentmindedly he placed a palm on his belly to caress it slightly.

"Why not try moving in with Ruki to start with?" The smaller guitarist suggested.

"It wouldn't work, we always seem to end up fighting the longer I stay at his place and then he kicks me out." Reita gaze dropped to his feet and instantly he felt sorry for not taking off his boots.

"You don't fight." He leaned forward. "Ruki gets angry and kicks you out because he can just before it would turn into a real, fair fight. If you move in with him, you'd fight or" he held up a finger "or you would talk things through because he can't hide any more. I know he loves you, we all do, but I guess he's too introverted to confront himself with that relationship of yours 100%."

"But wouldn't that mean he'd never agree on moving in together?"

"Just wait until he comes down from his fit and ask him." Uruha flashed an understanding smile.

"But things are different now. Maybe he doesn't want me like this." Now both of his hands spread on his belly. He wanted this, though, he really did.

"You know he doesn't appreciate steadiness. He can't stay with one haircut or color longer than a month, he doesn't wear the same clothes for a longer time and just imagining you and a child in his life, an unchangeable fact, terrifies him."

"Why, thank you." He dropped against the back of the armchair, feeling lost.

"I'm just guessing." Hiroto held up his hands in defense.

"Maybe you guessed right."

"You're doing this because I'm pregnant." Reita huffed and got up from their dinner table.

"What? No! Reita, I mean it!"

Now, as he saw the desperation in Ruki's eyes, the confusion he understood. This time he'd make him suffer for all the nights he had kicked him out to sleep alone in his bed or crash at Uruha's and Hiroto's place. Back when he wasn't living with the vocalist.

"I'm leaving." Turning on his heels, he went straight for the entry to pick up his keys, purse and jacket to stuff everything inside.

"Why are you leaving? I thought you wanted this!" Ruki sounded anxious.

"Really, you think I'm that stupid? You asking me to marry you? Rukizu, you only pulled that off because I'm pregnant." He struggled to zip up his jacket, his middle was too round.

"No! Reita, no, I honestly want to be with you, to have a family with you."

Reita didn't say anything, just slipped into his sneakers.

Worrying his bottom lip, Ruki tried to read the bassist. Unsuccessfully. "Where are you going?"

"Out."

That night he ran into Aoi staying at their studio over night. It didn't take him too long to coax the guitarist to give in to him, seeking something to get his mind off Ruki and his proposal. A ring, a generous dinner, his favorite dessert, the man he loved, whose child he carried, proposing to him and he just walked out.

He walked out to hurt him.

It hurt himself more than he ever could imagine.

More than Aoi biting into his shoulder as he came.

More than the soreness he felt the next day due to the lack of proper lube.

What hurt the most were Ruki's text messages, asking him to come home.

He wouldn't. Not for a few weeks.

- - -

There he was, dripping wet from the cold rain, sniffing, his light blond bangs sticking to his face, darkened and annoying. Luckily his face was wet enough to hide his tears.

He was shivering, holding onto his womb of eight months, angry at his own stupidity.

"Get inside!" Ruki said panicky, pulling on his arms, dragging him into his - no, their! - bathroom. The vocalist didn't care about his expensive carpet or woods, not now. He turned on hot water to pour into the tub and added a herbal mix, smelling strong. "Undress, will you, before you freeze to death." He pulled on zipper and buttons, belts and chords until the pregnant man was standing in front of him naked, shivering, shaking and sobbing.

Ruki guided him into the hot water and took a cup to pour some of it onto Reita's cold hair. Pulling up a small stool, he sat down and studied the bassist.

"I love you." The blond hugged himself beneath the surface.

A tickling feeling ran down Ruki's spine as he heard those words, spoken so upright and yet full of fear. "I love you, too."

"I'm such an idiot." He dipped lower into the warmth.

Ruki poured another cup onto the blond strands. "You are."

"Not helping." He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. He felt fingers on his cheeks.

"Thank you for coming home."

He sighed in a troubled notch. "Thank you for letting me in."

"Why shouldn't I?" Setting down his lower arms on the rim of the tub, Ruki leaned in. He felt like rubbing Reita's cold limbs until he was perfectly warm again, feeding him hot ramen and wrapping a fleece around his middle and another one around both of them. He had never felt this massive ache to care for someone ever before.

"Because I ditched you after you asked me to marry you."

"But you're here now."

They stayed silent for a few minutes. Ruki kept them close, intimate, by moving his fingers through the blond mess. Somehow, both felt it, that something just changed. No more blocking out, no more running.

"I've been thinking." Reita whispered, afraid to break the moment by speaking any louder.

"About?" Ruki urged him on.

"Us. Having a kid, maybe a house with a garden and your dog. We could have BBQs and Uruha could bring Masayuki and Aoi his Yoichi - actually all of them could bring their kids and they all could play with ours and you know.... this is embarrassing." Reita blushed, not just from the hot water.

"And Aki would bring Suzume and every other couple would be hitting on him."

Both men laughed, tension fading and a new feeling claimed them, comfort.

"I'm a lousy mom, though, I haven't bought anything yet. No clothes, no toys, not even a bed or a wagon." He sighed again, his head lolling in Ruki's direction to look at him.

"Well then, I'm an awesome dad who already has a full child's room with everything we need." He grinned smugly. "Unless you want to move into a house before our baby is born."

"You're unbelievable."

"I know. So? Move?" He seemed to bubble with enthusiasm all of a sudden.

"It's only four weeks, Ruki." But it wasn't like he didn't enjoy the idea of it.

"So? We're rockstars, darling."
