In the spirit of, "this is a journalling website and therefore a journalling competition" (whoops, meta, sorry!), I present for your consideration an entry handwritten in my actual journal, with pictures and a transcript

I'm sorry that the outcome of this was not what you wanted to happen. I'm not familiar with politics in Europe or England, but I know other people who have also felt discouraged or let down. I hope that there are better days ahead for you all.
It's funny, the next morning I woke up expecting to have moved away from them, to have been cast adrift, and then literally had to remind myself that planetary geography hasn't changed, neither Europe nor us have actually physically moved. That everyone talking about it, and there have been a lot of everyones, was actually being at least a bit metaphoric.
Sorry about that. It's literally just photos of the pages, but it's working fine for me... I haven't been able to get on the computer to see if it's the same logged out...
I am not sure what in particular you are referring to as "better days", but perhaps best not get into that. I think -- if done properly -- either conservatism or socialism can work in the long term in a society; they both have their flaws, but they can both get there in the long term. The problem is, in only a decade, for either, you see the flaws and not all of the benefits, and all the back and forth means that less gets done than just picking one and sticking to it.
I was born in Scotland, so this has been of interest to me. I, too, am Christian, so we have that in common.
This is a difficult time on planet Earth. There are wars and rumors of war. I believe that anything God allows is according to His Will. Not mine, but His. That is often a hard pill to swallow.
I pray for the protection of my homeland, and yours.
Thanks so much for this great response to my comment.
I don't believe for a moment that God wants anyone to suffer, or die. But from Genesis to Revelation, He has been teaching us that our actions have consequences, some most dire. He shows us His ultimate plan, and what He allows us to do, I believe is for His higher purpose. Does this absolve us from responsibility, from doing our best, to be our best in the world, to do our best for others? Absolutely not.
I'm also of the belief that we should be very concerned with the wars and rumors of wars. We're commanded to watch, and I believe we have a duty to try to help and heal where and when we can, but we should strive not to be distracted by what us going on in the world. (Impossible, right?)
The one thing than Brexit has going for it is that one of the UK's strength was its isolation, as an island. Of course, with modern weaponry, that's kind of irrelevant now.
Thank you so much for this discussion. A very welcome and pleasant surprise.
I also cannot see your pictures, but I like the idea of a window into a personal journal. I think you are brave to dissect your political thoughts and fears here and I think doing so helps bring people together- something we need these days.
Hmm, I wonder if the photos saved as friends only? (Or possibly even private) I had a rough draft of the entry that I was editing before I posted it, I wonder if it saved the photos at that privacy level? Or if I need to edit the photos separately? Sorry about that...
