Not all churches are like that, I have been involved in a 'fresh expressions' church where the main point was to sit around drinking tea and discussing such questions, which is great, but there was too much of a good thing in that respect and it tended to get a bit, debate for debate's sake, at the cost of some other things, which is one of the reasons I ended up back in the place I'd come from previously.

To answer your question, the command is given both to the Church as a whole and to each individual Christian. What is not given to each Christian is the requirement to "go and tell" - to evangelize - in exactly the same way that another Christian would. We're unique for a reason: God wanted us that way ( ... )

I'm an introvert, so it's easier for me to live my faith than to talk about it -- or to talk about anything, really. I've taken classes to teach me to talk about God more readily, but it still isn't something that comes naturally. God blessed me with some wonderful people who told me that living it is just as important as saying it.
Praying is never a sacrifice on my part; it's an opportunity. ;)
