I love all the attention to detail you give here to the language studies (particularly the confusion of Vader trying to make out that verse)...the acrobatic Sith Lord...and the Colour Wheel seems very real as well! Love it! Poor Vader -- mental torture followed by physical.
Interesting glimpse at bored!Vader's mind. I would rather tell myself stories than mentally assemble and disassemble things, but it feels quite natural that he wouldn't. Nice touch.
Bacta tanks creep me out. I don't blame Vader for being wary.
Mmmmm, interesting ending to this chapter... he must be hallucinating Padme, right? You must update again and tell us!
Aww, yay, a nice long review. Makes posting it here in this graveyard all worthwhile:)

The problem with fantasy and sci-fi universes is that they lack rich literary, scientific and linguistic, etc. histories--those little cultural references that make reading literature so fascinating. I guess I like to do my best to re-create that atmosphere, so it's so nice that you noticed and appreciated all of the little details--they're really the entire content of this chapter, and without them I guess nothing really would have happened except for Vader getting terrified of the bacta and freaking out!

Yes! You must keep posting in the graveyard to... keep it alive? (that sounds dumb)
And yes, I greatly enjoy your details. They feel so real. I wouldn't know what you've made up and what you've gleaned from the EU (which is like glorified fanfic anyway, is it not?). It's the kind of thing I'm not at all skilled at so I notice it and envy it in others :)
I GLEAN NOTHING FROM THE EU! The EU Must die!!! Arg!
*cough*
'Scuse my inhuman rage. I just never read the EU. I used to, before I decided that it's truly goddawful, and terrible writing to boot. The only things I accept as canon are the six films. Even the CWs are just fun made up stories.
Any details that make their way into my stories are purely of my own devising, or at least completely coincidentally resemble the EU. The only exceptions are that I did use Sate Pestage, because...I don't know; he just sneaked in. And I do use the tradition of Sith naming themselves 'Darth' starting with Darth Bane. Everything else has no connection to the EU.
I have to say I really enjoyed reading Palpatine's educational lessons with Vader. Though Palpatine might have been a cretin you have to give him points for being a wonderful teacher. Loved how Anakin came so close to understanding that the poem mirrored his own life...
Though I must ask did you and your friend ever figure out the entirety of the Colour Wheel? I'd love to see/read how all the colours work in accordance to their culture.
The ending was absolutely wonderful. Once more I loved the subtle details of his condition things one would never consider (bathroom breaks). Not to mention how once more Padmé haunts him reminding him of all he had thrown away in his lust for power...
Palpatine's whole relationship with Anakin is built on teaching. He's the only one who was able to make it past Anakin's defensive nature and really impressive on him the significance of knowledge, as self-serving as many of the lessons might have been. And Anakin is coming so close to understanding himself here but missing every time because he's not ready yet. A lot of these lessons will be stored in his subconscious for many years to come, and then jump out at him when he gets older. XD Poor guy.

You're not the only one to be really interested in this. I don't have the original files anymore, but I am going to try reconstructing it. When that happens, I'll post it on my LJ.

I love that about Palpatine how despite his intentions he's the only one who really knows how Anakin works and who isn't blinded by the fear of prophecy.
Oh goodness I can only imagine what a harsh reality check that will be (Vader figuring out who he is).
Aww thats too bad! Well if you do ever get around to reconstructing it be sure to poke me I'd love to check it out!
XD I'm glad you did go into such details it makes him all the more human and believable though man I can't help but pity him when it comes to /that/ department. Bathroom breaks can't be fun...
