Talking with a child about death

A while ago my 4-year-old Erika asked me about death. She already knows that everybody dies, and that most people die when they are old. She asked me if she was going to die too, when she's very old. Just wanted your attention! That being said, I think with technology advances, your daughter (hopefully) will be able to take advantage of them. I truly believe our kids may live to see 200 years old or further.

I think that Santa and god are very similar in concept. Both live in some magical realms, always know whether you've been good or bad, have armies of super-human magical helpers, and hand out rewards and punishment based your behavior. Hell, both require sacrifices, though for the one it's goats and such and for the other it's cookies and milk. The one requires you write him letters and the other requires regular prayers. The main difference being that Santa has an annual schedule of delivery and has no control over you when you die. At that point the second shift takes over.
