My broken laptop is at the Fry's repair shop, where they will keep it for a week just to run some diagnostics on it! The diagnostics will cost me over 100 bucks. And that's not counting the cost of repairs. There's no telling how much that will be. I'm enjoying my new Asus eee pc. Under 2 pounds.

I heard a lot of good things about them, not the least of which on the ALG mailing list. Any laptop under 2 pounds is definitely a strong candidate to be my next laptop. Are you going to be at the next ALG meeting? I will try to make it, primarily to meet other OLPC users, but I would also like to see what an eee is like, and whether its keyboard is ergonomic enough for me.

I rarely go to those meetings, but I'll try to make it to the next one.

I've already replaced Xandros with EeeDora, a modified version of Fedora 8.
