I bought something over Ebay about a month ago, but I still haven't received it. I contacted the seller. She said that the item was sent on 7/23 and provided me with a tracking number. I called the postal office, but they couldn't help me. Then I called the mail carrier. The lady there told me the item was sent on 7/22 from Texas and that's all the ( Read more... )

if this happen, it's the post office fault. if the seller add insurance when she/he shipped the item. they should able to claim the insurance and send you another one.

if the seller added insurance, shouldn't she have charged me for it?

yah, was there insurance?

but more curious is that she said she sent it on 7/23 while the post office has a 7/22 date. what if she mailed something the previous day and gave you that tracking number!? certainly the post office should be able to tell you WHO that tracking number was destined for?

i always buy insurance, but this purchase the seller didn't offer insurance. i'm curious too about the dates. the post office couldn't tell me anything. a lady there said that the tracking number that i have is different from what they have, so they wouldn't be able to find out anything about the package. she was actually the one who refer me to call my mail carrier.

ask for a copy of the delivery confirmation or receipt, to show the destination zip code. if it matches up with yours, it's likely that she sent it but then it somehow got lost in the mail.

but that's weird that it shows it was sent, but there is no delivery information. hmm. unless the seller printed out an electronic label w/delivery confirmation, and never USED the label... then it would say something like "the post office has been notified of this shipment on 7/22" or something. but it wouldn't say it was sent... what happens when you put the DC # into usps.com?

lastly, if you determine that she DID send it to you, sometimes it takes up to a month to deliver things... once someone used the right address but the wrong zip code and it took a month. another time, it took 2 weeks for no reason whatsoever. so just wait... if it doesn't arrive within a month you might be out of luck if you didn't ask for insurance...

i don't think the package arrived anywhere or that i know of. i checked through the telephone on the DC #. the lady from my mail carrier checked the status and it only showed that it left texas, but there's no destination info. i also think it's lost in the mail.

this is the second time i bought something from her and i received it a week later. i might wait a couple more days, but not too long because i might do a dispute on ebay, thanks.

if the tracking number only lists the item as sent but not specifically "delivered," then it may be still en route. especially if she used media mail (longer delivery time for media items such as books, dvds...) or parcel post or any other standard method of shipping. 7/23 is still ok, as we've had weekends in between, so i'd give it a few more days. as clara mentioned, if she printed up an electronic label, it will say "7/23" but she may have sent it a bit later. if her feedback is good, i'd just wait it out a bit before filing a dispute. it took over one month to get a media package delivered once, partially because i had a forwarding request on it, but yes, be glad she provided tracking, give it a week or so, and then try to work things out with the seller. the tracking status should eventually say "delivered" not just "sent." good luck! i'm sure it'll come in no time. :)

it doesn't show any destination info, so you might be right. it might be still en route or possibly lost in the mail. i bought something from her before and i received it a week later. i'll just wait a few more days and see, thanks.
