♞ TWO :: TEXT :: USE ALL YOUR WELL-LEARNED POLITESSE

Well I guess it's too much to hope for that there's an instruction manual for this place. So assuming that none of the people I've talked to are the type who like to haze the newcomers by feeding them wrong information and watching them freak out in varied and extremely loud ways... there's no way out, right ( Read more... )

Rather trusting, aren't you, if you're thinking everyone here's going to tell you the truth. Ahehe.

And I always did like them feisty.

Oh I'm not a complete idiot. But you need to get the bad information as well as the good to be able to distinguish huh? That's smarter than general distrust and paranoia though not as much fun.

And I like them suicidally stupid. Congratulations! You qualify!

Though I should probably qualify what I like them for...

I haven't tried getting out, but this is only my second day to be here.

I've spoken to others who have looked, though. And they told me that there really isn't a way. It looks like they have us sealed in this city. Which really makes me wonder how we got here in the first place!

Are you settling in okay? There're some dangerous elements here but it looks like there's some sort of organized group taking care of that... Though I don't plan to stay here long enough for it to be an issue.

That's the all-important question! Someone or something had to be responsible for getting us here.

I have friends here who are helping me. So I think that things are really going to be all right.

Hmm. Maybe a group of us should get together and try looking together. There could be things that people are missing, when they look all by themselves.

I'd say you're lucky if it weren't for the fact that having people you care about stuck here with you has its own additional worries.

Sounds like a plan.

I've pretty much been here since the beginning of this fiasco. Someone else can probably fill you in on their experiences, but hopefully this helps, too.

The only obvious exits according to the map are the bridge-gate and the port. There's no boats at the port, however. The bridge is obstructed by something. About halfway on it, you'll hit a barrier. It's impenetrable from what I've seen so far, since a lot of people have since tried to break it.

Trying to get out from the sides of the city doesn't work either. There's no walls, but you won't make it even close to outside of the city perimeter before the atmosphere gets too disorienting and you either freak, pass out, or both. This place has a sewage system, too, but it's inaccessible. Who knows if that's a potential way out.

Yeah it's helpful! Thanks! It's just so I know what not to bother trying and save myself some time.

What exactly have they used to try to break it?

Mm. Conventional means and magic of various sorts, since our idea of "magic" seems to vary from world to world. There are a couple people I know who tried really hard to break it, but were unsuccessful.

If you want to try yourself, by all means, just be careful, okay? Getting near the barrier and attacking it seems to make you a lot more prone to going nuts or getting sick.

.................magic. Really.

Are you sure you didn't walk into that barrier yourself.
