Many people remember Madeline Kahn's character from Blazing Saddles, Lily von Shtupp.   A delightful character, whose name always gets a laugh because "shtup" is Yiddish slang for "fuck".    That was only one of the Yiddish jokes the great Mel Brooks put in that 1974 comedy classic.

According to imdb. they both appeared in "Clapper Board" and "Arena," but not really working together. They may have worked together in other places, but I'd just chalk it up to Yiddish humor. I wouldn't even think of it as MB paying tribute to BE.

The whole The Great Race cast was wonderful: Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, Kennan Wynn, Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk, Ross Martin...and I'm having a senior moment - one of the most beautiful women in the world, Maria in West Side Story, Mrs. Robert "R.J." Wagner", Carol in Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice...wait, Natalie Wood!

Yes, I listed Jack Lemmon twice. Those of you who have seen the movie will know why. :)
