Wes Brown's Manchester United future could be in doubt after the defender rejected a new four-year contract.

The 28-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been at the club since leaving school.

Maybe he is just playing hard to get because he wants more money?

Then why did he reject this last contract? SAF said he wouldn't be offering him another one after this.

Woe :(

I think he wants to be rewarded for the years of loyalty and service he's given the club. I don't like the idea of him doing that, but he's perfectly within his rights. He has been covering for Neville this season and he's been up to the job thus far.

The fact that Sir Alex is considering letting him go means that the club has reached an agreement within themselves as to how much Wes is worth to them and significantly, feel that the aquad can cope with his possible loss. This means (potentially) more playing time for Pique, Simpson and Evans (though he's not been seen much). Put crudely, with Wes gone, the club can genuinely tell the youngsters that there's nore more room for them in the team. Pique moves up to third-choice CB after Vidic and Ferdinand, for one thing.
