I decided to try out the coloring in this tutorial and here's the result. I used various images from Getty including nature, animals, structures and cities. NB. They all have 4px white borders.

Oooh, beautiful. The colouring worked fantastically on these (as opposed to one I saw recently where it had been used on a person... urk)

I'm actually running off with #16 - Castle. It's gorgeous and I need another non-fandom icon.

Yeah, it works well for nature but I don't have to test it on a picture of a person to know it will probably look like shite.
