Things have been. . .interesting. And mostly not in entertaining ways, unfortunately. It's also not something (well, several somethings) I can discuss here, so there you go. CRYPTIC ( Read more... )

epic fail, books, early mornings, big girl stuff, colin firth, late nights, academics, productivity, pride and prejudice

1. I like your new home! I might be having to stop by mid August if I go to Austin for Eliana's birthday party.
2. Kickboxing is the best. However, make sure you don't compete with an in-shape men your age because that is a sure fire way to get a mysterious shoulder injury like I did.
3.I want to start writing, too. Can we force each other? If you're really interested in trying to commit yourself to writing something, I recommend Write or Die. com (http://lab.drwicked.com/writeordie.html) This website got my through Nanowrimo, because apparently I respond better to negative reinforcement. Michael can't stand it though and would rather drink 6 cups of coffee and write maniacally instead. To each their own, I guess.

Love,
Wifey

oh I forgot to mention, I also hate hanging stuff up. Which sucks because we can no longer sit on the couches since they are covered in things I someday intend to hang on the walls.

I am serious about it! I think we should write chapters back and forth, something ridiculous like a romance novel, like we did when we were thirteen-eighteen (we were SO AWESOME).

LOVE KICKBOXING.

I can't wait for you guys to come and stay with me!!! If I'm not a-fieldworkin' maybe I will come and crash Eliana's birthday party. Does she need any help hanging streamers? I am really good at that. It has gotten me party invitations in the past.

We moved into our place a month and a half ago and we still don't have everything hung up. Meh, oh well. In that time, I had comprehensive exams to pass for my master's, my dog almost died (seriously) and a load of other stuff. Maybe the walls will get decorated by September...maybe.

Oh, and we, too, have a TV circa 1973.

That's weird that you had comps for your Master's; here they're only for your PhD.

Sweet 70's television club!

Yeah, I think they have us do the comps instead of a thesis since it would be hard for us to have an advisor when the profs are primarily in the States (they come over here to teach classes and then leave). Our comps aren't like the doctoral ones, which I'm thankful for. We have 30 days to complete, but between work and responsibilities at home, it was hard to find time to work on them!

Man, I don't know if you've done this but I once did the whole livejournal thing years back and I read the stuff I wrote when I was like 16 or whatever and it really blows my mind. I'm like man I was a pretty weird kid back then. Some of it I feel like it's hard to understand unless you know what I was thinking at the time and what I was trying to accomplish with the post. It's like I'm witnessing the development of someone's brain and it's even crazier since that someone is me. Man, so much stuff has happened these past few years since high school it's unbelievable ( ... )

He was hoping over the summer to get super ripped, spike his hair, wear True Religion jeans and those Affliction/Ed Hardy t-shirts.

That is the epitome of doucheness, right there. I would run screaming from anyone trying to seduce me by wearing Ed Hardy. Jesus.

And spiked hair. . .seriously? Is he part of that tribe of white dudes from LA searching for a wormhole back to 1998?
