On the one hand I hate vanity sizing (which I believe has increased slowly over time, but I noticed several major stores changing their sizing sometime when I was in college/left college a few years ago), but on the other hand the "true" sizes can be triggering. Where I shop sizes seem to be getting smaller, because they import from Asia. But I feel like overall sizes are getting bigger. Which personally I feel is a good thing. Because society telling girls that a size 16 is an XL is cruel and makes alot of girls cry.
