Computer Question

I have a problem. I have three hard drives but they are disconnected. I need to connect them with a sata controller. I have an abit av8 motherboard. I will probably need to take the computer into a computer shop to have the sata controller installed. But does anyone have any idea what kind of sata controller I need?

I just bought one of these for backing up my data:

It is an external dock that plugs into your usb port so that you can connect a sata hard drive to your system. You just plop the drive into the unit like it was a toaster - you don't need to open up your computer or take it in to the shop. HTH.

I thought your 3 hard drives were sata. Oops.

If they are not sata, then it would probably be easier to go to the computer shop and have them install it - they would be able to put in a sata controller too.

As far as I know there are only 2 types of sata controllers - the regular internal sata, and the eSata which is external sata. This card has both:
