I am so sorry for your loss. *hugs* It wasn't your fault. She didn't have any outward symptoms that would indicate that crisis, until she got bad enough that you rushed her to the vet. It sounds like she had a good and happy life and you did everything you could for her. A little eye irritation for a couple days doesn't prompt a vet visit, and other than that, you had no warning. I have a cat at about age 13 right now, and even though some cats live into their 20s, I brace myself for that fact that, any day, she might be suddenly ill despite being extremely healthy for all these years. She has never been sick! However, she's been stumbling with her back right paw lately, and I actually saw her do a somersalt accidentally while washing herself the other day. It didn't hurt and she never stopped licking the right front paw, rolling over on her side to reach it better after she flipped. Her back right paw just couldn't keep her supported, and this could be anything from a stroke to I don't know what. It could be neurological

I'm very sorry. My heat goes out to you. Having been through the same thing with Puff not long ago, I know what it's like to have a cat with kidney failure and how fast they go downhill.

I'm so very sorry. It must have been so hard to get through that day! It seems to me that there is really nothing else you could have done...that you made the best possible decision. She manifested serious illness so quickly..by the time you found out, it sounds like it was too late.

I know you love her very much, and that when loved ones leave us, they leave an emptiness behind. I wish you both peace.
