My baby. Oh, God, my baby.

He's never run this fast before in his life. Legs pumping, arms swinging, heart pounding, lungs sucking in air. Oh, god, ohgod, my baby. He leaps over railings, jumps over the corners of the dock, water beneath his feet. He's never run this fast before in his life, but he's too fucking late. The boat is gone and with it Cameron and Abel. My son!

“He took my son. He took my son!” Jax screams, collapsing onto the dock. He feels Clay's arms go around him, catching him and supporting him. He's trembling - adrenaline and grief and terror fucking with him.

Hands touch him and he's never loved these men - his brothers - more before in his life. Jax clings to Clay, face pressed into his stepfather's arm. Hysteria grips him and he screams, his horror echoing across the bay.

“Abel, Abel, Abel...” He whispers over and over into Clay's sleeve. Tears run down his face. Dimly, he feels Clay's hands moving on his shoulders, comforting him. “Oh, God. Abel.”

Clay's voice, rough with tears and rage, says by his ear, “We're gonna get him back. Jax, listen, we're gonna get him back.”

Jax sobs out, “He's fucking dead. He's dead! I'm gonna fucking kill him!” He tries to stand, tries to move towards the water (he's prepared to swim if it means he can get to his son) only for Clay, Opie and Bobby to hold him back down. Clay's arms tighten around him and Jax sinks against him, sobbing into his shoulder. I want my son, he thinks hysterically.

He's gonna kill Cameron Hayes. It's not a threat, it's not a promise. It's a fucking fact.
