The freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned

Alright, so I'm back from my appointment with the neurologist. Not much to report except that I'm scheduled for an EEG next week. It's not going to be terribly fun. They're going to hook my head up to all sorts of sensors and try and induce a seizure. This means I am allowed no more than 4 hours sleep the night before, they will make me ( Read more... )

me too.

I just thought it seemed very odd that a doctor wanted to induce hyperventilating and a seizure, but I ws also thinking of the ones where you convulse and fall over. It sounds almost like that sleep disorder....narcolespsy (?) where people randoly fall asleep at the drop of a hat in the middle of things.

Yeah, I agree that it kind of sounds like narcolepsy, but I really doubt it at this point. The fact that I responded to medication as a kid and the fact that I can be photosensitive really points to seizure activity. Also, when I have an episode, I don't fall, drop things, or close my eyes. I've been told I seem to be "staring into space." Not to mention the auras. I've had those forever and only recently realized that they went along with the seizure deal. (Auras are actually a variety of seizure where the person experiencing it is perfectly awake and coherant, but everything feels really wonky and off, even mildly disorienting. Like I said, dreamlike is a great work for that.)

I'm sure I'll get an official verdict after the EEG, but not one doctor has suggested narcolepsy. ^_^
