Okay, the only reason I'm posting this here is to help get other people's input on what I should do.

I've been thinking recently and I've decided that I don't really want to major in theatre. Well, technically I do but I really don't foresee myself getting a job that can comfortably support me in performing theatre and I really really do not want

If you want to major in theater, then by all means, major in theater!

You can make a fine living doing that. And like Angel mentioned, there's more than just acting. Theres tons of jobs available in theater and movies. A lot. It's not hard to get into .

And technical directors are in huge demand.

If you want to be a super star celebrity, you may have a hard time, but if you are just looking for a job that you would like, that will give you a living and you are into theater, then do it. Major in it. You'll find work no problem, if that's what you are really truly honestly interested in.
