So, as in my previous post, the flooring guys came today and put in the new flooring. They had to move everything around, which was kinda inconvenient, plus they were loud early this morning. However, I took off to go and hang out with freakstop while they were working so I wouldn't be in the way (plus I was hungry and thirsty and couldn't access the ( Read more... )

Well, if you want to cover your butt, you could always say something to her along the lines of, "Wow, thank you so much for cleaning up after us... but are you doing it because we aren't being clean enough? I just want to make sure that everything is ok." Then you can get the skinny from her and if she is just cleaning because she's being nice, awesome! Maybe she just wants to make sure that the apartment remains in tip-top shape.

Not going to lie though, it is kind of weird.

I wish my landlord cleaned up for us... it's often me & my one roommate who clean up after our other slob roommates. ugh!!

That is weird...but AWESOME.

In undergrad, my landlord gave us quarterly cleaning inspections. She would inspect the BASEBOARDS to make sure that they were dust-free. If we didn't pass, she would bill us for a cleaning lady. CRAZY. Also, I'm sure that was illegal, but whatevs.

If we had cleaning inspections, we'd totally fail lol. We're kinda messy sometimes, so I feel bad that she cleaned, but, like, she never mentioned anything and I talked to her for a long time afterwards.

I wish my landlord would come and clean for me!

OK, I don't really because, uhm... awkward. I honestly don't know what I'd do in that situation. But, yay for new floors!

Yeah, the new floors are nice. I talked to my landlady for a while and she never mentioned anything about the cleaning, so yay for free labour?

I know, I totally thought the same thing. Our kitchen was pretty messy, only because I hadn't planned on cleaning 'til the weekend and didn't know the flooring guys were coming. But I had a long conversation with her when she was here, and she never mentioned it AT ALL or said anything remotely related to cleaning. And when she was done putting the baseboards on, she swept and stuff. :\ I think she just might be an obsessively clean neat freak?

My landlady comes in once in a while and cleans our kitchen, but that's because I live with stupid boys who don't do anything, and our apartment is set up sort of dorm-like. I always want to say "Those aren't my dishes! Don't blame me! But thanks anyway."
