I just.. I'm going to be on campus at that time, too. D:
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK.
Especially because I'm now reading these "emergency lockdown procedures" and they consist of:
1. Immediately move to the nearest room you feel is safe with as many people as possible.
2. Lock and barricade the door.
3. Turn off the lights or maintain minimal lighting.
4. Close all windows and blinds.
5. Lie flat on the floor or take adequate cover out of sight, keep back from windows and doors.
6. Turn off cell phones unless you need to report injured people.
7. Stay in the room until police arrive. Remember it may be a number of hours before you can be safely evacuated.

WHAT THE HECK.
They can't seriously expect to make people do this! This is not like, you know, a fire drill!
Also, why put people through all that for nothing?
Also, it seems dangerous to me. :/

It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.
Also, one of the FAQ questions for the lockdown procedure was "What if a fire alarm sounds?" and the answer was, "If a fire alarm sounds during an emergency lockdown, ignore it because it may be a ploy by the armed intruder".

DO THEY REALLY EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN IN NOWHERE, ONTARIO?
