and the actors, while easy on the eyes, still look like people you might see walking down a normal street.
This is my big beef for the moment; I'm hating that the actors being chosen (and I realize this isn't a new thing, but it's new to me for starting to bug me) for a lot of shows are beautifully perfect in outward appearance, or, it not perfectly symmetrical, then they're super thin.
Isn’t it funny that the screen has gotten so prudish now that there is lots of skin routinely on display? 30 years ago every square inch of skin was a scandal… though no wonder maybe: it was sexual. Lustful, hungry, possessive, dirty, much more than today’s indistinct indiscriminate bludgeoning with clotheslessness. The “sexualisation” of the media today caters to base greed and even power more than it has anything to do with the inner dissolution and the vampiric fire of lust and attraction (which needs no skin at all to express)… or just the yield and whisper of intimacy. That would be more scandalous to see on screen now than it has ever been before.
Clean-room copulation between flesh robots. Even (pro) porn is little else now.
Oh and it is clear what you are talking about. There is a reason that Victorian and Catholic themes feature prominently in kink. Repressed sexuality breeds deviance.
Yes, actual porn has become as unsexy as the MSM porn, IMO. And I actually worry about younger men and women who might grow up thinking that sex is like that, or is supposed to be like that, because, IME, people tend to enjoy having physical contact while having sex, instead of just posing in a way that doesn't obscure the view of genitalia touching, and while sometimes ejaculating somewhere on your partner's body can be a choice that works for both partners, that's not always the case. Sometimes, perhaps even most times, sex between humans for fun doesn't include a "money shot." And not all partners like having their face covered in sperm, and if you do that to someone without knowing whether that's something they're comfortable with, you're not a sex god, you're just a selfish, inconsiderate asshole (and sperm in the eye really fucking hurts). And speaking of assholes, some people enjoy anal sex, and some don't. It's not a universal thing, for any gender, and it can be much more messy and painful than portrayed. Lube, patience, and

It's interesting to see how each comment has a different "Ha!" moment to focus on. There's just so much wrong with this phenomenon, I guess no one is immune to at least one aspect of it...
I'm not doing as well as I'd like, tbh, but I miss you! *hugs*
