[This isn't right. This is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. How was he here? Where was here? The last thing he remembered was going through the Gate. Again. What the hell happened

[Hawkeye heard the familiar voice on the phone and without a second thought, she told her coworkers that she had an emergency to take care of. She surprised herself at the skill with the lie, saying that one of her children was sick. Besides, it wasn't as if the nurses really needed her. She only stopped to be sure that her newly-acquired pistol was secure in its' holster and not in her locker before hurrying out the door.
A few minutes later, she's at Edward's door, knocking.]
[It's okay, Edward. She would've shot her Not!Husband if she'd been armed; the man was lucky he only got hit in the face once. She breathes a sigh of relief at seeing his face; his panic on the phone had her worried that he was hurt.
It takes her a moment to take charge of the situation. She's typically not so forthcoming, but knowing that Lust was in Mayfield--and that Lust wanted to find Edward--prompted her to simply grip his shoulder and turn him around, guiding him back into the house. She finds the nearest chair, and guides him to it.]
Take a deep breath, Edward. Did you just wake up here now?
[She catches herself and bites her lip. He was from a different world, wasn't he?]
If you don't know the name, it means you're no longer on your world. Even if you had there was still the chance... Anyway, America short for the United States of America, it's a country on the continent of North America. Mayfield's a town we're all trapped in, at least those of us who have memories of our past lives. Those who run the town want us to believe we've always lived here.
[there's a strained silence on his end. he has never heard of ANY of those places. wtf man. wtf. ... but it doesn't sound like she's lying. he didn't want to believe lust was telling him the truth.]
Yeah, I've heard all that.
Who are you anyway? Sounds like you've been here for awhile.
[ She'll just pull out a pamphlet and walk over without a single disruption, handing it to Edward. ]
I'm aware of the Colonel's fiery temper, FullMetal. I've yet to experience it myself.
Don't you think you should be more thankful towards me? The last time I recalled meeting, I decided to spare you in the 5th Laboratory after you defeated the Slicer Brothers. [ and then she shrugs ] Also, that pamphlet has information into what you've been dragged into. If you need some more time to scream, I guess I could give it to you. This town has a sick sense of humor, they assigned me as your mother.
Thankful? Tch, you would've had your ass handed to you a lot faster if you'd let me die. I'm not thanking you for mindlessly following orders...
[He trails off as he starts reading the pamphlet, his brows furrowing.
He's not sure if he should believe this. Not yet. He puts the pamphlet down, claps his hands (that feels so strange, not feeling metal there. sounds strange to think that it's strange, too.), and touches the nearest wall.
...
nothing. Nothing.]
Shit. Ok, ok. So, let's say I believe this crap... [and then he remembers something she had just said]
... The hell d'you mean you've been assigned as my mother?

I... yeah. A couple hours ago. How... how are you here? [because the last time he saw you, you were kind of dying, lieutenant.]

That's a bit difficult to explain. You're in Mayfield, a town set in 1950s America.

America? The hell is that? [And why does it sound like you know him?]
