[He looks at his feet briefly, mostly because he still feels bad about the whole situation with Black Hayate. It wasn't for lack of trying, they were really nice to the dog, it just clearly had to be with Target. It didn't keep Pollux from taking it personally, however.]

You never mentioned having a dog. [Castor didn't mention a lot of things, why was this surprising?] Seems kind of familiar though. Maybe I knew your dog?

[That sounded stupid out loud. While he knew it was entirely possible, it didn't make the statement sound anymore logical. He chewed on his lip, watching the dog sniff around the bed again, maybe he should just shut up.]

Didn't think it was important. [He shrugged-- it wasn't important to him. So he had a dog, what was the big deal?] An' I'm sure you did, if we knew each other well enough to go monster fighting.

[He picked up a ball of socks from his 'this has been cleaned recently enough' pile and tossed it lightly to the middle of the room, lips curving in amusement as he watched the puppy waggle its tail and hobble over to grab and grab it and begin chewing happily.]

I s'pose he can have Black Hayate's old things. Probably still got some kibble for him to have. [Castor glanced up, shrugging.]
