Sherbet and sorbet are not the same thing. I know you think you'll sound more important by calling your frozen treat sorbet, but it is in fact, nothing but sherbet.

I think it's how you spell it and since I spell it neither way, then what am I eating then? Sherbert. That is how I say it and it tastes just fine to me

Huh? The difference between sherbet and sorbet is that the former contains milk, and the latter does not. Häagen-Dazs sorbet does not contain milk. The ingredients list warns that "Product may contain trace amounts of milk protein," but trace amounts are insufficient to cross the line between sorbet and sherbet. I checked the ingredients of all flavors, and none of them contains milk.
I did the same thing as you and reached the same conclusion. I'm also guessing that the "trace amounts" are because they use the same machinery as the ice cream and they have to cover their patooties for those with severe allergies or strict veganism.
Well, whatever the hell they do to it, it tastes, looks and feels exactly like sherbet. I think the "natural flavors" they use must be beef tallow or something...
What kind of sherbet are you accustomed to? H-D is very different from any sherbet I've ever had. Sherbet is creamy, and generally has a much less intense fruit flavor than sorbet.
What?! I say just order up some water in straight glass and a packet of roast-ox crisps, and call it good. And who is this 'buniduk' person anyway? ^^^
