Happy Easter, to all who celebrate, and wishes for a happy day to all...

Sparks fly
from flint. Priest cups
the Paschal fire, so small
within the dark cathedral walls.
Then, passed from hand to hand, a thousand fires.
Two thousand years and more recede
and we, astonished, cry
with Mary, “He’s
risen!”

:) thanks. The fact that I'm on LJ at 10:19 EST instead of putting on my choir robe as in days of yore shows that I'm with you. I'm disaffected and annoyed, and yet, and yet.... I'm still in love with the story at the heart of it (which, I agree, the church has pretty mightily messed up over the centuries).
