Review: Smallville 9x04 Echo

:: Several days later than usual, here's my review/opinions/rambling on Echo. Real life stuck its ugly head in my online life and kept me from, not only posting the review, but watching the episode too. I'm telling you people, life is crazy and it has no respect for one's fandoms.

I know some people like the Lois/Superman relationship because it was the thing for many years before the first Crisis, but I'm a firm believer in Lois/Clark and I want her to want him, not the hero.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. I want that too more than anything. She does love Clark the man. She couldn't help herself, but a part of her that wants to do good like the Blur can't help but be drawn to him. It's the classic triangle and a part of me will always love that! :D:D

I too was worried they would step back from the last two episodes. They seemed to be on the same wavelength and drawing closer. I was relieved to find that wasn't the case. I enjoyed this episode! :D

I agree. Even when I was a little girl watching the Superman movies, I had a problem with Lois ignoring Clark and being smitten with Superman. I was glad for L&C because Lois was obviously attracted to both sides of the man, but Smallville is the first time that Lois fell for Clark first and THAT is what finally made me a Cloiser. I know a lot of people go on about Clark deserving Lois, but for me, a Clark fan, I didn't want there to be any doubt that it was Clark, the man, that Lois loved, not the hero. The show so far has done a great job of making the point that Clark is the real person, and the costume is the disguise, so I wanted Lois to fall for the real person and not the disguise. They are my SV!OTP definitely.

Lois falling for Clark first is what made Sv!Clois my absolutely favorite Clois.

I don't know how I feel about the triangle, Lois is attracted to Superman, Clark is in love with Lois and jealous of Superman, Clark is Superman yet he doesn't say anything to her because he wants to protect her, and I want to smack everybody in the head for being dumb. I love love love that Lois fell in love with Clark, the man, before she even met the hero, I loved that twist in the story. And in this case her atraction for the Blur comes from the trust he has put on her, she feels important to him and deep down that's what she wants, she told Ollie in Bride, she thought Clark needed her, she needs to be needed, to be someone special and the Blur makes her feel that way.
I think she likes the way the Blur makes her feel, and in some way Clark started catching up to that on this episode, he told her "I'm not ready to fly solo" and asks her for her creative input on his story.

I enjoyed this episode too, but I had to watch it a couple of times to love it, it was great but following Rabid was a tough challenge.

I love the Clois picspams and reviews!! So pretty!

Can't say I care much for Chloe's reaction. What is up Chloe? I'm not liking you very much today, it's like she sees a parade and has to rain on it.
Dark!Chloe is NOT an attractive look for Chloe. I guess she has to be b/c of Dead!Jimmy, but I am done with crabby Chloe. Maybe Mack can't 'do' anything but bubbly or crying?!? IDK, I'm getting to the point where 3 mins of Chloe is too much. :\
And UGH! Chloe is not romantically interested in Clark! Do not even think TPTB are going there; it's Clois or nothing at this point. Woot!

nah, Charlk are "dead in the water" like Alison said at CC, her reaction to Clois just bothers me! I would be sold if they gave us a believeable explanation.

nice picspam love!
I liked the episode, didn't love. But the clois was soo good!

I swear I always hated Clark standing Lois up in any universe of Superman. It gets irritating when he can't at least tell her something good, or postpone it, or something! You think he'd be smarter than that. It always frustrated me in Lois&Clark. I was happy when Lois found out, she helped him out with his excuses...haha

I was happy to see Clark's human soft side toward Ollie. He is such a great friend.

Oliver was kind of a douche to Tess. She was trying to be sympathetic and he brushed her off and so then she turned her more serious side on because of it.

I liked the episode too, but after Rabid my love standars were pretty high. If an episode like this one had happened in S8 it would have been my favorite, but put in the context of what S9 has been so far, it's was less than impresive.

I want Lois to know about Clark so badly... I hate when he stands her up, or when he has to leave in the middle of an important conversation because someone decided to fall off a building. Stupid Superhero-life!

I love Ollie and Clark's relationship, they remind me of Clark and Bruce in the comics.
