Uh. Hi, Charon. What'd I miss?

[Anna gets no answer, of course, and hunts around until she finds the tablet--she thinks it's the same one, but who can tell? Crap, crap, crap. Back on the damn barge, which means she was sent away. Or consigned to oblivion is more like it, as she had no life to return to, and Dad alone knows how long she's been ( Read more... )

[Take one, give another. Castiel listens to the feed quietly, toying with the glass full of rum on the table in front of him. He's been in the Roadhouse all day, working on both the bar and the sigils Sam had wanted; it's amazing how just that can wear him down. He might be too tired for this even if she remembers everything.

... That's a horrible thought. Please let her remember this place. He does not want to go through that again.

The feed opens to what is probably rather familiar angelic sword pinning a very dead spider to the table. He should probably clean that, but the papers in front of him and the rum demanded his attention. He adjusts the tablet and gives Anna a flat, critical look.] It's been a month. How much do you remember?

[Please remember something.]

[Charming as ever, Cas. If she's at all disappointed by the not-so-warm welcome, though, it's wholly offset by the fact that he's still here, still speaking to her, and though he looks markedly more weary than she last remembers, apparently in one piece.]

Hello to you too. You want the whole story or just the Cliffs Notes? I remember showing up before with a snarky ghost of Uriel on my tail, and a shitload of other stuff happening right up til I last saw you, the night Balthazar turned up missing. [She pauses, brow furrowing; more softly,] You look tired. I'm guessing the place hasn't changed much.

[It's minute, but his expression does soften and his posture relaxes when she confirms that she remembers everything. The last thing he'd needed was another sibling out for his blood. Speaking of which, he really should tell her about Michael. Later. With any luck, Michael will honor their agreement and leave Anna alone.]

The spiders are new. I wouldn't let them bite you. [No, it hasn't changed. He's tired, he's still sore, and he had been in the process of drinking until the Enochian didn't make sense anymore.] Your dog's here, in the Roadhouse.

[Pause] Welcome back.

[Nose wrinkling, glancing down at the spider that is now arachnid goo] Yeah, no. Wasn't planning on it. [She gives him another concerned look. She wasn't offered a choice, of course, but still feels vaguely guilty for leaving.] Oh, good. Thanks for looking after him. I hope he hasn't been too much of a nuisance.

[She smiles.] Thanks, Cas. I'll be over there soon, all right?

[It takes some time for Sam to work up to it. He doesn't entirely trust Anna, even if Castiel does. But because she is Cas' sister and friend, and that means she'll likely be around the Roadhouse more often, that means making an effort.]

[He's at the house at the moment, kitchen in the background. Just don't look at his shirt, which has it's own share of spider guts. He nods to her.]

Anna. It's...good to see you back.

[Good for Cas, at least.>

[Anna smiles soberly, knowing he doesn't trust her and not really blaming him, though she'd like to think the time she's spent in the Underworld not trying to hurt him or the others would count for something. The effort is appreciated, though.] Thanks, Sam. You guys been holding up okay?

[Hey, he contacted her first! That's progress. Really.]

[Sam does still look a bit tired and shaken, but that could be ascribed to spiders. Probably. He rubs his face and sighs.]

It's been difficult. A bunch of our folks were pulled away at the same time. You, Bobby. [A beat.] Dean.

Thankfully, there were zombies, so we were distracted. Recently, the stupid tablets decided to show some of our memories.

Dean and Bobby are gone? Oh, Sam, I'm sorry. [Not just for his sake and Cas's either; she's going to miss them both. And Ellen and Balthazar not long before; they'd collectively taken a hit, all right.] More zombies, huh? Ever seem to you like somebody around here's got a one-track mind?
