[Mal's looking a little worse for wear, but it's (mostly) nothing a good dry cleaning can't fix: plant glop is disgusting and it's all over his coat. He has a rifle slung over one shoulder and a revolver holstered at his hip, but he's carrying a machete. Projectiles are great for normal hunting; hacking and slashing works a little better for plant ( Read more... )

Haven't seen a thing about it come over the tablets lately. I really don't know where we stand.

Neither have I. Hopefully that's not a bad sign.

I'm not exactly of the "no news is good news" camp myself. Best I can do is offer some help and hope that no one actually needs it.

[No she didn't because mun has been so inactive lately and she's trying to get back into the swing of things.]

Oh... I didn't know... I've been cooped up at home.

[Mun apologizes for Mal and his boorish behavior. I'm not calling you out for not knowing. <3]

Maybe you should take a gander at that tablet once in awhile. Hades had a few things to say not long ago.

[Apparently just waking up from whatever coma he's been in since his abduction and seed planting adventure. He's kicking at some vines offscreen, absently rubbing at an irritated and red patch of skin you can just barely see poking out from under his collar on the back of his neck.]

I'm of the mind to take you up on that, Captain, seeing as I seem to have left my plant and/or zombie stomping boots at home.

[And now he's eyeing that machete you've got there.]

See, now, that might've been useful. How is it you're always the one that shows up with the cool toys, Mal?

On my way, then.

[Yeah, he sees you rubbing at your neck. Mal's only been a little worried, Wash. He holds up the machete.]

What, this? Was just sitting around in the marketplace, waitin' to be put to use. Ain't gonna pass that up.

[Aka, he swiped it from under an unsuspecting shopkeep's nose.]

[Wash lets out a bark of a laugh and kicks at some vines, trying to clear his way to the door of the apartment he's been holed up in.]

And I'm sure whatever merchant you relieved of it was just pleased as punch to be rid of it. Would've given you a medal had he been aware, right?

[Kicking at some more plant matter and oh that noise in the distance better not be incoming zombies because he was so not ready for that whole zombie horde thing to be happening so soon. And, ugh, that bit of wound on the back of his neck stings.]

So remind me, because it seems I'm a little out of the loop, what's the correlation between invading flora and people going bonkers? And speaking of one flew over the cuckoo's nest, do we know where little River's run off to in this mess?

[Insert nonchalant shrug here. Mal may be covered in plant glop and edging toward tired, but it's damned good to be of some use and even better to see Wash up and around again.]

Pleased as punch indeed. Certain he had a hankerin' to see it put to some good use. Too good a weapon to be just sittin' there.

[And down to business. All nonchalance is gone and Mal's gone into Captain Mode.] We kill the plants and they don't kill us is the gist, as far as I'm understanding. There's, ah, five? Five of the main pods that need taken out. Honestly, I ain't sure who's on that or what's going on there. As for River? Ain't seen her. Gettin' a mite worried; if you catch sight of her, let me know. She's hard enough to keep track of on a good day.
