As it was, she'd had little to tend to beyond some laundry: she'd taken the time to better organize the things beneath the bathroom sink -- like she'd told John once, her apartment only had one bathroom, and Heaven forbid he hurt himself recoiling from the sight of tampons -- and then she'd double-checked Misaki's old room, which proved to be vacant other than the spare sheets and things in the closet. Jill hadn't bothered with any cleaning cleaning, no scrubbing or shining or anything of the sort, so there would be no smell of telling cleaner upon entering ( ... )

Only one bathroom? He had forgotten that, but no worry. He just would get his own little trash can, maybe, or make a note to never ever look into the trash at all. Maybe he'd put a little cloth over it and just slide his tissues and Q-Tips in when the time arose. But no matter what, he could handle it. And if Jill had any worries that the man couldn't keep a clean bathroom, they would be immediately proven completely wrong a week in.
"Misaki's old room, yeah?" he asked, wanting to set things down and put them where they now belonged.

She hesitated a moment as she watched him, eyeing the garment bags with a thoughtful look.
"...I'm assuming you didn't pack the rat while you were at it?" she asked.

"Nah," he answered with a slight snort, moving to hang the garment bags up and yet making sure his voice carried. "Duffel bag's too stifling for a living creature, and I wasn't about to buy a cage and wood chips and shit for him to plow around in.
"Why, you miss him?"
