Gwen stared at the, well she wanted to say sky but the longer she looked at it the more she believed it wasn't the sky at all. There were no clouds, no movement at all and there was a scent to this place, like stale air and something she couldn't quite place. The more she tried to make sense of things here the more confusing it became. She just had to accept that it was what it was and try her best to survive here, mentally more than anything else, what with the whole being immortal and all ( ... )

"I am indeed, it's lovely to meet you in person." Drawing closer to Gwen, Inara nodded. "I understand perfectly. Dealing with Charon has that effect on people." Inara quickly scans the area and seeing nothing creeping out of the shadows, turns back to the other woman. "Normally I'd be very inclined to stand around and chat, buuut... This isn't exactly a very safe area." She smiled slightly, motioning for Gwen to follow her back toward the city.

"How are you holding up?" she asked waiting for Gwen to reach her before she began to lead the way back. "I know when I first arrived that I found a lot of what people where saying to be quite... Well, outlandish to tell the truth. And for a while I tried to convince myself I was dreaming, though the longer I was here the harder it was to think that way."

Actually if Inara was honest, she still thought that way at times. Times when zombies were attacking, when people she cared about were hurt by various creatures in the Underworld and mostly when people started disappearing.

"Who? Oh, you mean Skeleton Man." Creepy little silent ferryman from hell. She had to suppress a grin at that one and focus on Inara, eyes growing wider when she suggested they should move. Nobody could have mentioned that when she was ignorantly sitting here chatting to half the Underworld ( ... )

"I thought I was use to... strange things and dangerous situations, but but there's a whole lot of that here." She sighs softly but quickly rounds her shoulders, giving her the appearence of more confidence than she probably has. In a place like the Underworld it was sometimes hard to keep ones confidence up what with the whole place continually trying to beat it down.

She smiles slightly, tugging her shawl back up onto her shoulder. "It's quite big actually," she agreed as she followed Gwen's gaze. "I actually haven't. It's not exactly safe. But I can perhaps introduce you to some who might have if you'd like." She leads Gwen down the path that will take them toward the market and then toward the bar.

"I mainly stay in the city. At least there are others around and it lessens the likelyhood of being attacked by strange things." She pauses for a moment, her smile turning more wary. "You're lucky though, you've missed ever having to meet one of the Underworld's more.. dangerous guests. Dracula. And yes, I do mean Vlad Dracula."

Altaïr came downstairs after Constantine picked up the puzzle box, no longer wanting to stay in the apartment. He's still feeling a bit frazzled, hair mused and eyes slightly wild, and it showed as he reached the bar. Instead of waiting for Desmond to finish with the two women sitting down he moved around the side of the younger man and grabbed a bottle. Not bothering with a glass he sat at one of the bar stools, opened the top and took a swig.

Luckily for Desmond, the moment his own box had appeared, he had thrown it out his window, his paranoia heightened by all that happened to him ever since he had come to the Underworld. And so he hadn't gone through the same struggle Altaïr and when the Syrian stole a bottle right under his nose as he had been about to serve Inara and her friend, he had to control himself not to roll his eyes.

Choosing to ignore the Master Assassin for the moment, forgetting how they looked identically except for the tattoo covering his arm, Desmond offered a small, welcoming smile to the two women.

"Hey Inara! Can I get you and your friend something to drink?"

Inara blinked, looking between Desmond... and Desmond's twin? She hadn't even known he'd had one. Granted that wasn't exactly surprising since they'd never had any truly indepth getting past the surface types of conversations. She looked over at Gwen and shrugged, not really knowing what to say about the double vision before them.

Luckily, Desmond spoke up and she turned her attention to him and smiled. "Nǐhǎo, Desmond. I would like a glass of white wine - dry please." She paused and glanced between Gwen and Desmond. "And this is my new friend Gwen, she's new. And Gwen, this is Desmond. He's very sweet and a very good bartender. He can make anything you'd like." Her gaze flickered to Desmond's twin and she arched an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. At least for the moment she didn't.

Gwen slid onto a stool at the bar and lumped her tablet mercilessly on top, the nifty bit of technology serving mostly as a reminder of her not so pleasant arrival into this... charming little slice of hell. Like Inara, she stared at the two men behind the bar, eyes moving from one to the other. Unlike Inara, she had no idea that anything about the 'twins' was unusual, other than the fact that both were unlucky enough to wind up here. Comforting maybe on one level she supposed but still... No matter how much she might have liked to see a familiar face down here, she wouldn't wish this on any of her team ( ... )
