Jen groaned as she buried her face in Sam’s chest to get it away from the sun, curling up closer to him in the process. She could feel his arms tighten around her, and heard him mumble slightly in his sleep as he looked down at her. “What?”

“Sun’s up,” she sighed, closing her eyes against the light. Before the whole incident with Gordon, she would have been up to go jogging before the sun was even up. Now, she was happier just to stay and bed and wait for someone to go with her-if they even wanted to go at all. She managed to keep up with her figure in other ways, she didn’t need to go running every single day, all by herself.

“That damn sun,” he mumbled sleepily, and she giggled as she felt his hands start to wander over her, sliding over her hips to her side. “Guess that means it’s time to get up.”

“Get up, get up, or just kind of wake up but really not go anywhere?” she asked, mumbling slightly as her body shifted to fit against his.

“I’m a fan of the getting up and not really going anywhere,” he murmured, leaning in to kiss her gently. She kissed him back, sliding her arms around his neck and letting him roll her onto her back.

“You know,” she whispered, pulling him close. “We are going to have to get out of bed eventually.”

“Hmmm-” he murmured. “We should have breakfast.”

“Yeah?” she grinned as his lips moved softly to her neck. “Are you going to cook it for me?”

“Me?” he smirked, nipping at her neck lightly, and feeling her arch softly against his hands. “You don’t want me to cook.”

“Oh, no?”

“Nope,” he sighed, pulling up to look at her. “Ask Dean-I burn water.”

“Uh-huh,” she said with a smirk, giving him a look. “Like I believe that one.”

“I was also raised on Lucky Charms, mac ‘n’ cheese and instant dinners.”

“Okay, that I believe,” she sighed, before looking back up at him. “I take it that means I’m making breakfast.”

“Can we have pancakes?” he asked with a grin.

“I’ll have to see if I have the ingredients.”

“If we have all the ingredients, can we have pancakes?” he asked.

“Uh-huh.”

“And bacon and eggs?”

“If you want me to make all that food, I’ll have to get out of bed now.”

Sam watched her for a minute, before shaking his head. “No eggs and bacon. Just the pancakes.”

“Just the pancakes then,” she said with a sigh, before leaning in to kiss him again. He kissed her back, pushing her back into the bed and she giggled lightly as he pulled her closer, flipping them over and pushing him back against the bed.

Jen moved smoothly through the kitchen, gathering the ingredients she needed for the pancakes. She was surprised she was actually stocked in these things-she hadn’t expected her roommate to think ahead the same way. She glanced back over her counter and saw Anna and Dean stretched out on the sleeper sofa, curled up around each other. She and Dean had their differences, but he was good for her. She was glad they had each other-in some semblance of a relationship, whatever they may have.

She started to mix the pancakes, turning her back on the couch to start cooking. She was getting ready to pour the batter into the pan when she heard a voice over her shoulder.

“Cooking breakfast for the boyfriend?” She didn’t have to see the smirk on Dean’s face to hear it in his voice. “Look at you two, being all domestic.”

Jen rolled her eyes, before glancing back over her shoulder at him. “Don’t you have someone else to bother, Dean?”

“Not really-can I have some?”

“No. Not enough.”

“Please-Sam can eat, but he can’t eat that much.”

She rolled her eyes again, before shaking her head. “You want some, you help.”

“Oh, sweetheart-you don’t want me cooking.”

“Yeah, yeah-I know. Raised on Lucky Charms and mac ‘n’ cheese. All I want is for you to wash the strawberries, Winchester. Think you can handle that?”

He gave her a smirk before looking over at the sink. “Where are they?”

“In the fridge.”

She watched him as he moved over and pulled out the strawberries. After a minute, she glanced back at the pancakes and started flipping them. “So how are you and Anna doing?”

“Doing?”

“After the whole-Gordon thing.”

“Oh,” Dean sighed before going back to what he was doing. “We’re okay. She does better, we do better-kind of the way it works.”

“Good,” she nodded.

“Good?” he said giving her a look. “Is that a compliment, Templand?”

“Don’t let it go to your head,” she smirked, before serving the pancakes she flipped onto a plate. She felt Dean watching her this time, and she tried not to pay too much attention to it, watching the movements as she poured the next batch of pancakes and started to let them cook.

“So how’re you doing?”

“Me?”

“After the whole Gordon thing.”

“I’m okay,” she said with a nod. “Gets better every day.”

“Good.”

She nodded slowly for a minute, before turning back to Dean. “Any reason why you ask?”

He kept his eyes down on the strawberries for a minute, before shrugging slightly. “You guys are starting to get more and more like home base. Sammy-he needs a bit of home, you know.”

Jen smirked slightly, before glancing to look at him. “That was dangerously close to a compliment, Winchester.”

“Don’t let it go to your head, Templand.”
