Things are seriously not going Alex’s way. Within eight hours, he’s dumped, told he was cheated on, kicked out, and laid off. He’s currently a crying mess in Matt’s arms, sobbing and shaking. After a few hours he’s calmed down a little and really hungry. He sets out with twenty bucks in his pocket to find something to eat. He’s not really paying attention, pretty much aimlessly walking around the city, letting the cool night air swirl in his brain and clear his thoughts. He doesn’t realise it when he walks into a dark, deserted alleyway and only half realises when there is movement in the shadows. He does realise, though, when that movement turns into a big man shoving him against the brick wall and pulling his pants down.

Jack is walking down the street in his overly expensive clothes with his head up and not a worry in the world. He walks past a particularly dark alley when he hears something that sounds suspiciously like crying. “Hello?” he calls, and receives a tiny, “who’s th-there?” Jack walks toward the voice, “Um, my name is Jack. Where are you? Are you okay?” There’s slight movement in front of him and then there’s a man emerging from the shadows. It’s evident he’s been crying for quite some time, his eyes are red and puffy, his nose is running, and sorrow is clouding his brown irises. He looks down at his feet and says,very quietly, “I’m Alex. And no, I’m no okay.” Jack cocks his head to the side as his eyes adjust to the darkness. “Is that blood?” He asks, pointing to a substance that’s on his lips and chin. Alex nods weakly and lies, “I was j-jumped.”
Jack squints in the darkness to get a better look, “Do you have somewhere to stay tonight?” When Alex shakes his head ‘no’ Jack offers a stay at his apartment, which just so happens to be in the fancy part of town. “Really?” Alex asks quietly and his face lights up the tiniest bit when Jack nods. It quickly falls back into it’s sad expression, “No thanks. Uh, I can just go to a friends house or something.” Jack shakes his head, “Please come to my place. I don’t think I could live with myself not knowing if you were okay or not. I swear I’m not some creepy rapist or serial killer.” Alex agrees quietly and Jack starts to lead the way.
